To facilitate the world-class research that we do day-to-day at the CPBM we have several pieces of key equipment, from laboratory work horses to the highly specialised analytical instruments.

Prometheus Panta
(DLS/SLS/NanoDSF/Back Reflection
| The Panta allows for simultaneous measurement of: • In-solution particle sizing via dynamic light scattering (DLS) • Molecular weight and small aggregate formation (SLS) • Thermal stability is probed via nano Differential Scanning Fluorimety (nanoDSF) • Turbidity is measured using Back Reflection to assess large aggregate formation | •~2 mg/ml 10 µl per capillary • 3 capillaries per sample • 24 capillaries per run |

Mass Photometry
Mass photometry is a single molecule counting, label- free way to investigate sample heterogeneity, population sizes, assembly of complexes or multimers, probe buffer optimisation and determine binding affinities | • 30 kDa- 5MDa • Resolution ±25 kDa at 66 kDa and ±60 kDa at 660 kDa. • 2% precision with 5% mass error. • The system requires an on-instrument concentration of ~20 nM |
