New DNA “Bubble Blower” Method Paves the Way for Precise Liposome Production

Synthetically produced liposomes are incredibly valuable research tools that have gained great utility as drug delivery systems.

In this breakthrough research, we use DNA origami to create a nanoscale ‘bubble blower’ tool capable of generating nanometric liposomes. Our innovative bubble blower improves currently available DNA origami liposome seeding techniques by expanding the range of compatible detergents and has the potential for semi-automated lab scale production.
